I had a rather interesting experience on 9/21/05!
Myself, along with 4 other members of my church, went to a debate at the UW Campus, on whether or not Wisconsin should allow Gay Marriages. (The vote on this issue will come up next fall, 2006, here!)
There are several points that I would like to comment on:
1. The Gay Movement keeps refering to the fight to win the ability to get "married", as a "civil Rights" issue. IT IS NOT! The civil Rights movement, in the Bottom-Line, was to not be judged, based on THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN-NOT SEXUAL ORIENTATION! Black men & black women were ALL treated the same! You could easily be a lesbian or gay-as long as you didn't "flaunt" your sexual-preference, if you were "white", nobody would bother you. The Gay movement has NO RIGHT to call this a "civil-rights movement"
2. The man representng the "no" posistion, (who was from FOCUS ON THE FAMILY!), made the observation about the fact that Rosie O'Donnell's son once asked, "Why don't I have a daddy?" If this doesn't show that the NEED for having 2 Biological parents in a family unit isn't inherint in every child to have a mother & father, than I don't know what is! This need has existed since LONG BEFORE there ever WAS A GAY MOVEMENT!
3. It is a SCIENTFIC FACT, that a man CANNOT show love to a child, the way that a woman can! No matter HOW loving a relaionship between 2 gay men, or 2 lesbians might be, the child IS missing out on what a woman or man can offer in regard to love & nurturing!
4. There was WAY TOO MUCH emphasis of the legal rights of what a gay couple would get, & not NEAR enough emphasis, on what would be best for the child! This is a very common factor in the gay aggenda!
This is why gay marriage should NOT be allowed.
That's my Opinion!
Bill!
