This Makes Me Sad

I came across this in an issue of the FREEDOM FROM RELIGION'S newspaper called "FREETHOUGHT TODAY.

It makes me sad to think that, they are not even WILLING to give God a chance! What is in this story, is NOT the God that we serve!

Imagine her moving from sink to stove,
from need to need,
planting seeds, baking cakes,
visiting shut-ins,
and on Sundays glittering
with stained glass, hearing always
the praises of a jelous god,
and every night His fierce voice
hissing, "Listen, listen,
a fire is kindled in mine anger
and shall burn unto the lowest hell,
and sinners shall be devoured
with burning heat & bitter destruction,
the teeth of beasts, the poison of serpents,
the sword without, & terror within, to Me belongeth vengeance."

Spake The Lord"



So when the bad times came to her troubled mind
and she bore the modern torture of her pills
and the ancient menace of the lakes of fire,
and every night come on in a black torment,the the Lored was faithful to her bed,
reminding her in the dangerous hours
of all the evil things she'd ever done-
the omissions, the white lies, the private
secrets locked away-littke
derelictions from
her eighty-four years of goodness.
And God would not relent
when her body trembled
and her words came in gargling
whispers-when in the dark chambers
of the heart, the pounding
was hammered on nerve-ends-the sword without,
the terror within-and a tiny voice,
grieved her guilty life:
"I've so many bad things, & now
Jesus won't forgive me, the Lord
won't let me rest."

How can we then forgive this God
who will not forgive His saints?
We are here to witness
that the sins of the Lord are past pardon.
He is therefore banished from our planet
to shuffle through a universe of stars,
while the Tree of Knowledge sows it's golden apples
all across this land.

Let's look at this story.

First of all, this section:

"Listen, listen,
a fire is kindled in mine anger
and shall burn unto the lowest hell,
and sinners shall be devoured
with burning heat & bitter destruction,
the teeth of beasts, the poison of serpents,
the sword without, & terror within, to Me belongeth vengeance."
This
Spake The Lord"

If the Lord DID speak this, I can't find ANY reference to it an ANY Version of Scripture! It appears that Mr. Apleman took portions of Scripture, & put them together just to suit his OWN agenda!

Then we have THIS section;

And God would not relent

whispers-whenin the dark chambers
of the heart, the pounding
was hammered on nerve-ends-the sword without,
the terror within-and a tiny voice,
grieved her guilty life:

Terror within? That's not God! He is not a God of terror, but of peace! That's Satan that Mr. Appleman is talking about!

Then we have this:

How can we then forgive this God
who will not forgive His saints?

This is a blantant lie!

John 3:16 (New International Version)

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Then, there is this:

He is therefore banished from our planet

This is certainly happening in our world today!

And finally, we have this:

while the Tree of Knowledge sows it's golden apples
all across this land.

Look what has happened BECAUSE Adam & Eve ate from this tree! Yeah, it's sowing it's knowledge across this land, alright!

The FREEDOM FROM RELIGION FOUNDATION is making this sound like a GOOD thing. It's anything BUT!

THIS is the kind of filth that the FFRF is promoting, & it's WRONG!
