IMMEDIATELY
by JOANNE LOWE
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”
1 Peter 5: 8 -10
King James Version
I have received several emails in the last three weeks from people who are going through some very difficult situations. We need to realize that as long as we are serving Jesus it makes satan angry and that vicious and sneaky devil will attack us at the weakest part of our lives. A pastor friend once told me “If satan is not attacking you, then you probably aren’t on the battlefield for Jesus”. When satan attacks us, we need to immediately go to Jesus and ask Him to help us.
If you were addicted to something before you made a heart commitment to Jesus, that is where satan will attack you the most because he will tempt you to do the things you used to do. The Bible says that satan is seeking whom he may devour so we need to stay under the umbrella of God’s protection. We can’t fight these battles ourselves. It takes Jesus to chase the enemy away. Jesus defeated satan when He shed His blood for us on the cross. The war has already been won but we still have these little battles that we must endure. They may seem impossible to conquer but through Jesus we will be brought through them.
We will always have temptations from satan and the world but Jesus will bring us through them victorious. He is a very present help in times of trouble and distress. We can depend on Him. Are you on the battlefield for Jesus?
