Let me ask you-Have you ever been in a win-loose situation-- Your plans fail, feeling dejected, totally out! Dont see the sunshine anymore, though you try looking beyond the dark clouds(mayb you see them as DARK)?
God promised that Eve's children would bless the world. But now one of them is dead, the other's on the run and everything's fallen apart. Ever been there?
Just because your plan fails doesn't mean God's plan will (Read that line again)! Listen: "And Adam knew his wife again, and she bear a son and called his name Seth: for God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel whom Cain slew" (Genesis 4:25. )
God can make you successful again! Notice the word "another." When God gives you another chance or another relationship or another career, it won't be a continuation of the bad experiences you had in the last one. No, it'll be "another" unlike anything you've had before. Your future begins with Seth!
Notice, Genesis 5 begins, "This is the book of the generations of Adam... and Adam 130 years, and begat... Seth: and the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth 800 years: and he begat sons and daughters" (Genesis 5:1-4.)
"But what happened to Cain and Abel?" They're not mentioned. They didn't make it into the book! Genesis 5 isn't just another chapter of the past. It marks the beginning of something new! And it gets better. Adam lived 800 years and produced more sons and daughters.
Wow! The birth of Seth unblocked the blessings of God! Are you getting the idea? Your best days are ahead, because your future is not tied to what you've lost.
No, it's right in front of you, so rise up and seize it! Another reason to smile:D
