A FOUNTAIN OF LOVE
by JOANNE LOWE
“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.”
Revelation 21: 5, 6
King James Version
We have many beautiful fountains but none of them are as beautiful as the cleansing atoning blood of Jesus. One dark and lonely day on the cross, Jesus shed His precious blood so that we may have a way to be forgiven and made clean in God’s sight. The fountain of life is the love of Jesus flowing into our hearts. The most beautiful color in the world is red for the redemptive blood of Jesus.
Jesus is the beginning of mercy, kindness, hope, unconditional love, understanding, forgiveness and compassion. If you have ever been thirsty, then you know how good it is to finally get a drink of water. Jesus is the water of love to our thirsty and lonely hearts. He is the only one who can satisfy our thirst for love and understanding. Our families, loved ones and friends can love and encourage us, but only Jesus can take away all the loneliness, discouragement, disappointments and heartaches.
Have you been to the fountain of love? Have you allowed Jesus to take away the darkness of sin through His cleansing atoning blood? Has there ever been a time in your life when you made a heart commitment to Jesus? Is He your personal Saviour? If not, I urge you, I plead with you to give your heart and life to Him today. Please don’t put it off. Your family loves you and wants to meet you in Heaven. Run as fast as you can to Him and let Him immerse you in His love and compassion.
