The verse that I have chosen for today is Psalm 103:11-12:
" For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us." (NIV)
Have you ever given much thought as to how far the east is from the west? When you think about it-it's pretty far! That is how far our Lord & Savior, Christ Jesus, looks at the sins that we have committed against Him, but have confessed them, & asked forgivness for. I keep thinking about that one song, that has Jesus asking us when we mention our past sins, , & He says, "WHAT SINS?" That is the great promise that we as Believers have! All the sins of the past have been compleatly wiped clean by the power in the Blood of the Lamb! It is like permanently deleating all your e-mails! They can never be recovered! That is how Jesus looks at all those who belong to Him. So many of us walk around with this terrible guilt from the past, wondering wether or not our sins really HAVE been forgiven. The Bible SAYS they are! If we are feeling guilty for past sins, that is not from God-it is from SATAN! Satan is the god of lies! Jesus has said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (NIV) As chldren of the Almighty Creator of the Universe, Jesus wants us to live in joy, not guilt! If you know Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior, if you are BORN AGAIN, it is your right to CLAIM that forgivness, not with meek acceptance, but with boldness & confidence! Let us come to the Throne of Grace, as Believers with the confidence that we belong to a God, that loves us beyond all measure!
