There is something that is bothering me about most churches and sermons. They will get down on one particular sin and harp on it forever. In my thoughts the Bible teaches that there are really only 3 sins; the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life. If you think about it then there are really 2 main ones, lust and pride. When was the last time you heard a really good sermon as to how to deal with these two sins and eradicate them from your life?
Can you imagine what life would be like if we did not have these two things weighing us down? Can you imagine what it would be like in this world if these two things were actually being prayed about for God to deliver us from?
Some churches only talk about how wonderful God is and how forgiving He is. All of this is true but first comes repentance. For that to happen people have to realize the sin first. If the churches would preach about these two sins and let the Holy Spirit convict the listeners I think there just might be more true repentance and just maybe a real revival.
