Jan your stories are great. We really do have to take care of our planet. It is the only one we have. Keep writing.

I absolutly love the Vow Jan. I may not know anything about the cities that you mention but I know a quarry like the one you wrote about. It does bring back memories from my childhood. Very good memories.

The story came from an experience I had with my adult daughter a few years ago. It was late at night on a snowy winter's night. the moon was full and reflecting on the snow, making it almost as bright as day, although there are no street lights. The Limestone quarry is half a mile away from my home, and as we walked past it we clearly heard the sound of children playing in the snow. There were no foot prints - other than fox and hare. Local children would be in bed - it was very late - and there was no way at all that children would be playing there. But the sounds of a wonderful snowball fight echoed through the night. Here are a couple of pictures of my world... This is Weardale in summer time... all green fields and stone walls. You can see for miles. in winter it gets a little bleak. this is one of the quarries close to my home. And finally another view of my wilderness
