I wanted to see the sunrise
To start this brand new day
I wanted to see a grand sunrise
But clouds got in my way
I wanted to see the sun rise
But all I saw was clouds
It was like the heavens
Were wearing multiple shrouds
I watched a little while longer
Birds were flying in the air
Clouds changed to cotton candy
Like my childhood at the fair
I waited yet still longer
Then the blue broke through
It was then that heaven spoke
“This day is just for you.”
I can face what ever happens
I won’t give up on hope
I won’t hide in the corner
Or sit around and mope.
I will wait until the evening
A sunset is just as grand
I know what ever happens
Is all in the Masters plan
