I said a prayer for you last night
I asked God above
To keep you in His mercy
To keep you in His love
I prayed that He would bless you
And take away all pain
To send you a day of sunshine
And yes even some rain
I prayed that He would keep you
In the palm of His hand
To give you a day of wonder
To give you a day that’s grand
I prayed that He would send you
Friends to cheer your day
His loving light to guide you
And to keep you in His way
I asked that He would show you
How He love you so
To open your eyes to see
All the blessings on you
That He does bestow
